Sundus Azza is a 25yr old activist from the city of Hebron, occupied Palestine.
Sundus lives a few meters away from an illegal Israeli settlement, and faces regular harassment from extremist Israeli settlers. Not only has her house been vandalised, but both her family and herself have been violently assaulted by settlers as well as soldiers.
Since 2008, Sundus has volunteered with Youth Against Settlements, documenting human rights violations as a media and activity organizer. Youth Against Settlements is a Palestinian grassroots initiative, founded to promote nonviolent community resistance against the Israeli occupation. The 'Open Shuhada Street' campaign is an annual call to end the closures, restrictions, human rights violations, and occupation in the Old City of Hebron and all of Occupied Palestine.
Sundus will speak about the ways in which the occupation systematically targets non-violent Palestinian activists in Hebron, and the methods that Palestinians have found to protect their homes and families.
